This novel is a hell of a lot more enjoyable than the last Koontz novel I read (Darkest Evening of the Year), but I'm still not completely sold on it. I'm thinking Koontz's writing just doesn't appeal to me

It's already started out better than the last Koontz novel I tried to read, which I left at my cousin's house in the hopes that maybe she could enjoy it LOL.

I'm not really enjoying this too much. The lead character is just way too annoying for my tastes. It'll take a miracle for Amber to turn things around in the last 82 pages to make me consider buying the second book in the series.

Thus far the lead character is a bit too flaky for my tastes. Hopefully now that she's no longer under the Forgetting Charm she'll become more competent. Right now the book is feeling a little too Sex-and-the-City-with-demons for me.
