I finished Ezra and am two pages away from completing Nehemiah. The last hour of reading wasn't as boring as a lot of what was going on in Chronicles, but it's been almost 100 pages since anything truly memorable happened. I can't remember much of anything that happened after Solomon died.

Finished Chronicles and have now read the first four chapters of Ezra. 2 Chronicles 21 & 22 confused me. Jehoram was 32 when he became king and he reigned for eight years, making him 40, yet the king after him was his 42 year old son Ahaziah. Huh? I just looked it up on Wikipedia that 42 may have been a typo because earlier in Kings it said he was 22 when he began his reign.

I'm officially halfway through the Old Testament. I'm in the second book of Chronicles. The first book and at least half of the second book is just repeating stuff that happened back in the book of Kings, but the stuff I'm reading now about Asa is stuff I don't remember. Not sure if this is new information or if I just zoned out during Kings after Solomon died LOL.

Thus far Chronicles has mostly been repeating a bunch of things that were already established earlier in the Bible. Fortunately it means I got to read about David again.

At first I was glad to be through with Kings (probably the most boring book thus far; nothing interesting happened since Solomon died) but Chronicles has not started out well. It's just more "this person beget this person, who beget this person, who beget this person" in the first two chapters. I'm glad I'm almost halfway through the Old Testament because I'm ready to get to the New one.

I have very little clue what happened in the last hour of reading. I don't know if it was just incredibly boring or I was just too tired to focus, but nothing really stood out to me.

Only one more chapter and I'll have finished the books of Samuel. So glad there's less repetition lately, but I have to admit I'm surprised there's almost no talk at all about heaven and hell.

Halfway through with the first book of Samuel. Was Saul the first bipolar person in the Bible? LOL At one point there was no one "goodlier" than him, but a few chapters later he's trying to kill David out of petty jealousy. I'm confused why David doesn't just kill him in self defense. It's not as if David hasn't killed in battle before, so the only thing I can imagine is he can't kill him without God's permission.

I finished Judges and read all of Ruth (an incredibly short book). The most memorable aspects were the story of Samson (why did he tell Delilah his weakness when she repeatedly betrayed him?) as well as pretty much everything about Ruth.

Completed Joshua and have read the first five chapters of Judges

Finished Deuteronomy and have read almost half of Joshua.

Finished Numbers; now at Deuteronomy 11
