Vonnie bought this for my birthday about 3 years ago but I only made it to page 174. I'm now staring over from the beginning and finding it to be pretty slow despite the fact I love mythology.

I've actually finished the story and am now just reading through the glossary at the end of the book.

I'm excited I'm reaching the final but disappointed because there's no telling when I'll get to start Dragon Reborn. I love this series SFM. Even though she annoys me at times, I'm glad Nynaeve is getting a lot more to do this book. If I remember correctly, it's eventually revealed all sul'dam are capable of channeling (though it might not be revealed in this book). Seanchan = hypocrite tyrants.

Jordan is a master of creating despicable characters that you want to see punished in the worst way possible. I forgot about Liandrin being the one who caused Egwene to become a damane; I just hope Liandrin experiences the same fate before she dies a violent death. Damn I love this series.

I knew Thom would eventually be forced to rejoin the heroes but I certainly was not expecting it to happen the way it did. I don't remember that at all! I hope Fain destroys the Seanchan but sadly I can't remember what goes on between them.

I kind of wish that they don't find the dagger so annoying Mat can be killed off LOL. I forgot all about the Seanchan and my hate for them until Domon say the Aes Sedai with the leash on her. As soon as it mentioned the leash, I remembered what it does and how cruel the Seanchan are.

While I love the entire book, I definitely prefer when chapters focus on people other than Rand. I want him to use saidar on Selene so bad. How does he put up with her attitude when he has only just met her after saving her life? Even in future books, Rand is always such a little bitch when it comes to women. It's one of the reasons I never liked him.

Unfortunately having already read this, I know why Selene is behaving the way she is. I do wish I could "forget" so that I could understand why she is so obsessed with Rand blowing the Horn.

It slowed down quite a bit after the attack on Fal Dara. Perrin and (especially) Mat are acting like such pricks. I forgot how annoying these Emond's Fielders are LOL. More Padan Fain, please!

I completely forgot that book two is better than one! How did I forget Verin and the Amyrlin Seat? Great Hunt starts out a bit slow but things pick up PDQ, especially once we finally get sections devoted to Moiraine. I also did not remember that Bayle Domon from Book 1 reappears in Book 2. I'm guessing Padan Fain spent time in Shadar Logoth since he mentioned Mordeth.

Haven't read much yet. I had already read the prologue a few days ago at the end of "Eye of the World" and nothing really happens in the first chapter.

Wow. This is really, really bad. Even if you ignore the paper thin plot and the annoyingly vapid characters, I have never read a published work that contains this many grammatical errors. If it was self-published, I can understand he may not have had an editor, but could he not have reread his own book? The number of run-on sentences is appalling!

"Adam may be yellower than a wagon full of dead chinks." "He was getting as queer as those two useless fucks." Lovely imagery. I'm really hoping the writing is only like this in the prologue (which is told from the POV of a delinquent youth) and the whole novel isn't written like this because...yuck.

And the Eye of the World is drawing to a conclusion. Man I love this series: so much I remember and so much I'd forgotten. I completely forgot about the two people who attack once the heroes finally reach the Eye of the World.

The final battle is fast approaching. For me the exciting part is the revelations about Padan Fain. He's always stuck out to me; I always like bad guys who aren't friends with the main bad guys.

At long last, the group is finally all together and Elayne and Gawyn have been introduced. Now the group is deciding whether or not to use the Ways. I remember them using them though I forgot about the danger Loial warned of.

Parts of it are slow but it's so epic that I remain addicted to the story. I definitely have to find some other epics to read because this is the perfect genre to me.

I'm disappointed that Perrin didn't appear in any of the chapters I read today.

Rand and Mat have just arrived at Four Kings. I remember the name Four Kings, but I don't remember what happens there. Meanwhile Perrin and Egwene have been abducted by the Children of the Light. I forgot how much I despised them.
