Interesting but the days are mostly starting to blend together. Seemed like such a scary time.

It's so odd to me that we made it obvious we were on the Allies side by giving them supplies yet until the Japanese finally attacked, we refused to officially join the war.

So much more interesting now that stuff is actually happening! I wish I were smarter so I could retain more information because I'm finding history so fascinating; it just sucks that I'm not going to remember 3/4 of what I read!

It's been getting a little bit more interesting as the Pearl Harbor attacks drew closer. Just before I quit reading, I finally reached the date of the bombings (December 7th).

Nowhere near as impressive as Erik Larson's pre-WWII book "The Garden of Beasts." A lot of history books I"ve found to be captivating but this one is pretty dull thus far.

Not at all like I expected but so far I enjoy it. Loved the Guiding Light reference. Bizarre fact: when Clark Gable took his shirt off in a movie called It Happened One Night, T-shirt sales dropped 40 to 50 percent. How on Earth do they know that was a result of Gable taking his shirt off? LOL

Pretty cute book. Burnett writes adorable children characters and isn't as confusing as her fellow British contemporaries.

I'm torn. I'm excited for the end but also hate that soon the story will be over. Bravo, Gillian.

Not much longer and I'll be through but there are so many people I want to see get their comeuppance. It started a bit slow but I understand the hype it's received. Flynn did good here.

The villain is a sociopath; I'm hooked. Not sure if the villain is too over-the-top or not but I definitely want to see him get his comeuppance in the end. The plot reminds me of Wild Things.

Even though some of the dialogue is annoying, the book is getting really good lately. I guessed early on what happened to Amy and just as I was starting to become convinced I was wrong, at the halfway point I find out I was dead on. The question now is, what's going to happen next? Once you find out who is responsible for Amy's disappearance, is there much story to tell? And I'm only at the halfway point!

Most of the annoying dialogue has ended and I'm becoming more invested in the book. I just hope Flynn has a satisfactory ending. As much hype as the book gets, a part of me expects the end is going to fizzle.

I really like Nick's scenes but Amy's diary entries bug me. Hopefully as she begins to describe her and Nick's relationship deteriorating she will quit talking like a high school freshman.

Finally back to my "daily reading" (haven't been able to do it due to being sick and a visiting relative). Only like 5 pages left, though.
