It's starting to pick up

Not impressive yet but it's only been 14 pages. Still plenty of time for Rose to really begin to suck me into her tale.

Very funny especially at the beginning. Makes me miss the show it inspired that much more.

I was ready to pass on the second book but things have gotten really interesting lately so I'll add it to my wishlist. Of course after what just happened on page 296, I'm wondering what is left for the series.

Usually by this point in a book, I know if I want to read the sequel or not. Thus far I can't say. I probably won't because I find the book the writing to be a mix of pretentious/tedious/perverted but I must admit that there are certain moments that I do find to be pretty intriguing. Ultimately, though, Card's disgusting beliefs will likely cause me to skip the next book.

Mostly I hate it when the focus is on Ender but I'm really intrigued with the Peter/Valentine subplot.

I liked the second and third chapters but haven't liked much since then. The tactics stuff as well as the arguing with the idiot Bonzo is dull. I like the friendship with Alai but they rarely get to talk after he's been traded to Salamander.

I didn't like the first chapter because it doesn't bother explaining what some of the references mean but the next two chapters explain what the first chapter didn't. Pretty good so far even though I don't like OSC.

The first fifty pages were largely a huge mess but Leroux eventually began writing a cohesive story. Don't like it as much as Dracula but I'm enjoying it.

Can't say I'm enjoying it so far. I'd rather be reading Jekyll & Hyde again.

Finished the story but still got a preview of the second book left. Not as exciting as a lot of other juvenile series but I enjoyed it.

There's a lot of set-up that's not particularly interesting, but once Horace is forced to confront his bullies I really started to become invested in the characters. Now that the Rangers' Gathering has happened, it's finally starting to feel like fantasy.
