I guess I like it but I was expecting it to be more exciting. Pretty slow for a children's series. I can't wait until something actually happens.

Pretty good so far. More somber than I expected from a preteen's book but that's not a bad thing. It's missing a little something but I think it's likely to pick up soon.

I like the concept of tying in Superman's creation to the Bible but there's something about Meltzer's writing that prevents me from feeling as much of an emotional attachment to the story as I would like.

Some of the characters and dialogue are really annoying but I'm liking the overall plot. I do wish it would hurry and explain what the Book is, though. I know Siegel's father was guarding it but what was it? I want to know the connection between Superman and Abel, dang it! LOL

Pretty good so far. It really hasn't done much of anything with the Superman/Cain/Abel subplot yet other than allude to it, but I think I'm going to like it more than the first Meltzer novel I read (Dead Even).

Awesome. I knew Finnick was a big deal from before I started reading but was unsure in what way. When the movie comes out, I'm sure it'll be fantastic.

Unfortunately I accidentally spoiled myself by reading about Seneca, so I knew one of the twists that was coming up. Still I am loving the hell out of this. Katniss, girl, you need to hurry and rise up!

I keep getting only brief moments to read it but I'm in love with is as I was the first book. It's a shame this series is only three books long! I love the frequent Rue references.

Not long now. I'm only about 6 pages away from finishing the chapter on the 31st. Pretty good book despite inaccuracies and typos.

Even though I understand why they attacked us (though I am NOT justifying it), the Japanese were despicable back then. Attacking an "open city" after all weapons have been removed is just cowardly. I just wish the book didn't have so many typos or inaccuracies (such as Benny Kanahele being a woman!).

The amount of typos are beginning to get on my nerves. It's not the worst I've read but I have to wonder if Shirley's editor was asleep at the wheel. Some typos are no big deal but it seems like more and more are appearing as time goes on. The "United Sates"? Really? There's also a moment when Shirley mentions someone twice in one paragraph but spells his name differently both times, so I'm not sure what his name was

Cute story. Loved the reference to Bloody Mary. Reminds me of a more believable version of Christmas Carol.

Only one week past the actual bombing and about half way to Christmas.
