A major character was just implied to have died but I fully expect him to pop back up. The world Jordan created is so rich it's a shame he never managed to complete the series.

I'm so glad that we're starting to see a focus on characters other than Rand. Perrin (my fave) is finally beginning to discover the truth about what he can do. I didn't recall that Egwene was with him at the time, though, and I don't really remember Elyas all that well.

I remembered how annoying Rand gets later in the series, but I forgot how damn annoying Nynaeve was at the beginning. Sadly I can't remember if she gets any better as the story progresses. Weird how much I remember and how much I don't. When she first appeared I didn't recognize the name at all but after a little while I began to remember that she becomes important later on.

I'm still trying to figure out where Thom Merrilin fits in. I definitely remember his name but I cannot remember what significance he plays to the story. Aside from that, I've just come to the part where Egwene discovers she has the potential to become an Aes Sedai. I look forward to later in the series when Perrin plays an even bigger role; he's my favorite character.

I'm so glad to be reliving the Wheel of Time. It's been probably ten years since I last read any of the books and I am really looking forward to starting over again and actually completing it. It's interesting to see which characters I can remember. One character's name is awfully familiar and I'm sure he plays an important role at some point but I sure can't remember in what capacity.

The last few chapters have been really good. The perspective has changed from Ig to the killer. The killer, who has seemed relatively normal when we've encountered him/her, is actually very warped.

I thought Ig's devilish sermon to his snakes was corny but other than that I've been enjoying it. It seems like we're at the point where there's not much to be done in the present; I'm expecting a lot more flashbacks to what lead to the moment where the killer tries to kill Ig.

It's been getting really good lately. It seems like it should be nearing the end; I'm wondering what's going to happen to prolong Ig finally getting his revenge.

The flashback definitely picked up. The friendship between Ig and Lee are really interesting, and even though I don't usually care about romance I'm even digging the flirtation between young Ig and Merrin. I'm torn on whether I want the flashback to continue or for the story to return to the present.

Hill tends to write like his father which is both a blessing and a curse. Some of the dialogue is extremely annoying. Then Hill makes what seems like a mistake: just as things get interesting he flashes back to when the lead character was a kid. Unfortunately the flashback is not very interesting thus far.

Obviously I've read very little. The first chapter I didn't care for, but the next one has me thinking this might be a hell of a fun read. Still too early to tell but I think I like where it's going.

I'm still torn on whether I like this or not. The characters' motivations are interesting but something in the execution is leaving me unsatisfied.

I'm pretty disappointed. I had high hopes but the book is so slow. I'm halfway through and it seems like only now am I starting to get to the good stuff.

Interesting but also disappointingly slow. It makes sense given the plot, though. I'm interested to know how the heck the lead character and two others will go from being considered survivors to murderers.

I've finished the story and am not just reading the author's thoughts at the end of the book. She talks about how a lot of the events she wrote about are based off things she's witnessed or heard about and also pleads with people to end slavery.

Not much more now. The George/Eliza story seems to have wrapped but I'm wondering how Uncle Tom's story is going to reach its conclusion.

All I read today was a bit about Cassy explaining her background to Tom. Nothing major has happened.

Late in the game but Stowe hits us with yet another change of scenery. This time, Tom finds himself owned by a master who isn't even halfway a decent human being. I'm surprised Eliza/George haven't appeared in hundreds of pages; I guess Stowe is already done with them?
