I can't really get a "read" on Kate's character. Most of the time I read her as sounding "dry", almost personality-less, yet she frequently makes jokes that always fall flat because of the way she sounds in my head.

I still haven't become invested in the characters or story. I want to like it but I just haven't developed any strong feelings for it, neither good nor bad.

I like Andrews' version of vampires but thus far I'm not invested in the characters or story. Hopefully that changes soon.

I like the way Green creates a type of chronology. Some stuff gets glossed over (it looks like Oedipus is only going to be mentioned in passing) but it's enjoyable. Hopefully now I'll remember that Perseus is the one that killed Medusa while Theseus killed the Minotaur; I always get Perseus and Theseus mixed up.

I see where Rick Riordan got his idea for Gaea as a villain from! It's okay so far but I've yet to find a book on Greek myths that captures my interest as much as I would like.

Loved this book as a child. Just read the first chapter and thus far, I'm not sure what I loved about it. Hope it gets better!

The writing isn't the best but I like the story. Took a while to really grow on the kidnappers, though. Have to wait and see, though, whether or not I'll bother with the next in the series. If Stevens and Windermere begin to develop an attraction, though, I'm almost guaranteed to opt out of book two.

For the first 87 pages, I haven't cared for it except for a brief scene between the protagonist and his wife. Then suddenly on page 88 something happens that really ramped up my interest level. The writing style isn't that great but it looks like the story may finally start to get interesting.

I enjoy the Kane Chronicles but Riordan's use of Greek/Roman myths is just so much more interesting. After only one book I already find Hazel and Frank to be much more interesting than Carter and Sadie in the two books of the Kane Chronicles I've read.

I'm probably in the minority but my least favorite parts are the ones focused on Percy. I'm more interested in Hazel and Frank's stories.

Better than the Kane Chronicles. I'm curious to find out more about Hazel's curse and Frank's lineage. The moment his father appeared, I knew who it was and that he was Frank's dad.

The Greek-Roman thing is very interesting. That said I'm annoyed at the treatment of Stheno! In myth Stheno was the oldest Gorgon and killed more men than Medusa and Euryale combined, yet here she's an idiot while Euryale is the "monstrous" one.
