Ok, I will no longer read books where there is no character development. This book is killing me…by a long string. I’m going to continue for now but do so with a grumpy attitude.

Finally see the humor. Only took 3/4 of the book before it is finally funny.

Still absolutely no humor, lots of triggers that should be noted for people struggling with those issues. I’m still interested enough to continue due to an author who can write.

So far, pretty dark and depressing, had to double check this book is actually the one where it said it was humorous. Also scientists can be something else besides logical in everything they do. I do appreciate that the author can write!

Not my normal genre but pretty funny

Ugh, here’s the problem. I’m actually interested in the story, but the book suffers from poor editing.

So good but I’m sick with Covid and it’s been hard to read lately 😭

Such a great series by one of my favorite authors. Can’t wait to dig into the book.

I can’t imagine Clint Eastwood in this role.

I have so many dnf books lately but that happens when I read too many self published books in a row. I knew this one would be good and so far, I’m right. I can’t believe I’ve waited this long to read it.

Such a good book, I had to speed up narration because bronson Pinchot narrates too slowly in this book.

I am way harder on books than I used to be, it takes a lot to impress me. This one is starting off well.

Excellent writing

I stayed up way late with this book. So good. This is one of those books where future generations will be assigned to read in English literature class.

Still reading, it’s getting better, it was a slow start and I’m still hopeful.

I’m still reading but I am having issues with the writing. You can tell the author has the knowledge, just has weird presentation. I’ve read many military thrillers and prefer the military details to be more integrated into the story so it doesn’t seem so choppy.

One thing I realized now that I am reading this book is how much I prefer character driven books. This is so beautifully written.

I couldn’t get into previous book so now onto this book. So far, good.

It’s so hard to go from a character driven, incredibly detailed and researched novel to a plot driven novel. I’m trying to get into this one and being patient.

I really hope this book lives up to its hype.

Karin Slaughter is my all time favorite author so imagine my surprise when I discovered I missed reading this book.

Like all of Slaughters books, her character development is flawless. She is also methodical in plot development. Graphic and real!

I'm coming out of hiding for this damn book. I haven't found a book worthy of me even saying one thing on Goodreads in a long time (so many others are so much better at convincing you all to read a book) but this one is too good to stay quiet about. I hate that I'm 60% in because I know the end is soon... like tonight... even though I have a ton of work to do...cause I don't want to do anything else but read. Damnit!
