This is SO good!

look how much restraint I have, stopping for the night at only 24%. so far it's a good one :)

i will not stay up all night to read the new Bergeron. i will not skip work to read the new Bergeron. but how am i only finding out it exists 2 weeks after release! a travesty!

the problem with the presentation of the present/past timelines here is i get a very strong "these boys need to talk" vibe, only idk about what, or to what extent they have in the gap. also Zach desperately needs a drag queen fairy godmother to come teach him how to be a real boy

sure is a lot of baseball shit in this book. also horrified some of it is set in phoenix, at least they haven't gone anywhere recognizable to ruin everything with some geographic fuck up

i did not in fact forget i was reading this, and it is very good whenever i do pick it up, it's just i have very little capacity at the moment and need something a little more comforting and escapist

wow, it seemed like there should be a lot more book left

the lack of humor is noticeable

basically reading this just on how good his first was. the setup (reality tv music competition) doesn't appeal, and im pre cringing from anticipated humiliation, but it is kinda cute and funny so far

ok, I'm enjoying it now, but the timeline is just way too compressed for the emotional/relationship journey here.

it's gotten somewhat better, but in future, remind me to listen to that part of my brain that rolls its eyes at the idea of hockey romance written by people not named Taylor Fitzpatrick

struggling with this. the writing feels cluttered, and the internal logic is just wtf.
