good, better than the last one? just a sense that the mystery aspect is stronger

once again reading a series book and wishing i had some slight recollection of the previous installment.

This is really good.

Told in a very odd style, but liking it very much so far, hopefully interest lasts beyond the first reading session.

the biggest argument in favor of local book stores (ignoring the plague thing) is one i've never seen made: paying for an f'ing hardcover and having it arrive with the corners all bashed in because of inconsistent and incompetent packaging. of course whether that's worth the 50% price premium you'd pay at a b&m shop probably depends on how flush you're feeling

wondering if any of this book besides the opening frame bit is in the present. not bad though, just not reading much cuz my mind is on other things

Very head-hoppy. Don't really like the writing style, or any of the characters yet, but we'll give it a shot based on Beast in View.

Didn't there used to be a widget/page that let you see a list of all the authors you've read and a count of how many books by each one you've read?

i swear 10,000 years ago when i started reading this kindle said it was short.

stalled for 2 days because there was too much left to finish before bed, but not enough i'd be willing to stop
