ok, my first real problem with this book, that makes zero sense, give me one single reason why they would do that.

Looks like several KJ Parker books (kindle) on sale right now. There promoting Sixteen Ways To Defend A Walled City @2.99, I haven't read that one yet, but Sharps, which is my favorite of his novel length works is 1.99 atm. Sadly, nothing I don't already own on sale.

this is excellent

if i ever knew there was going to be more than one, i forgot about it. certainly changes the dynamic a bit.

ends at 96%. best installment in quite a while.

This Columbian woman seems a bit sterotype-y. :/ This is much better than the last couple installments have been though.

off to a good start. the last 3 installments of the series have been on the weak side, hoping this is a return to form.

finally feels like the plot's getting started... not that it dragged till now, reads quick, but just didn't feel like anything was happening either.

i guess i'm trying this. so far, how to put this... there is an absence of clear thinking. i don't mean in the sense of plot, or characters doing stupid stuff, that's tbd, more like listening to one of those people whose brain jumps around or flits off to a different topic mid sentence and you're constantly, what? and backtracking to figure out if you missed something.

going through the kindle looking for something to read is always a big wtf is all this crap and why on earth did i buy it experience? ac broke and it's too damn hot to do anything but read though.

i'm actually slightly annoyed by the relationship flashbacks interrupting the present time plot.

well that went as expected, until it didn't.

apparently this is the end and the rest is excerpt from next book, if i knew that i'd have finished it earlier.

so, by complete random chance, i just saw a photo on Tumblr of the actor the hot young gang leader character keeps being compared to and im like, ugh, no. they don't make them any less hot than that.

damn, what's it been, years or decades since I saw that used as the villain's scheme

had the whole day to read, didn't spend a minute on it till well past the point I should have been sleeping

put things down too long and I can't remember who's who.
