I’m not sure I’ve read anything like this before. This seems to be the most meta of all of Vonnegut’s books, mashing together autobiographical stories, musings, and traumas with an unfinished novel told in a non-linear narrative.
Immensely touching. Vonnegut feels much older, and the consequences of living to 88 are clearly weighing on him in both positive and negative anecdotes. Would recommend.
