Some progress is still progress, right?

This book is not very good. I'm on chapter 2 of 8 and already questioning how people got through this.

A book about a Wizard investigator sounds great until you find out he wears a duster and cowboy boots non-ironically. The writing is just real, real bad at some times. Constant "That's the thing about being a Wizard..."'s
This feels like a bad hollywood film that takes itself far, far too seriously.

Chopin's prose is subtle and beautiful but man, do I not care about the drama going on in this novel.

Miller and Murphy became an exaggerated version of the old good cop / bad cop routine that Jimmy liked to call "violently unstable rage-aholic cop / friendly, talkative youth pastor cop."
