Iko rolled to her side, clasping her metal grippers over her chest. “Prince Kai! Check my fan, I think I’m overheating.”

Oh this is good :D

Way too much talking and not enough action although it does have some skirmishes but they feel short. I still like the series. 3.5

45 years of constant yearning for him had made my tears form a pool of longing. Every day I waited by that pool with confidence and love. I believed that my lover would step out of the pool and take me in his arms – but when he did finally step out, another woman was at his side. Their footsteps disturbed the clear surface of my pool. The ripples destroyed the reflections of the sun and moon – and my hope was gone.

I knew who was the killer since page 15 or so. But I like the characters. I'll be looking forward to more books in this series.

"She turned and found herself staring at another cop, this one also in his mid-thirties, with a conservative haircut but unshaven jaw, and sharp green eyes. Six feet two inches, wearing jeans and a black T-shirt. Part of a U.S. Marine Corp tattoo was visible on his bicep."

**rolls eyes
Nobody looks like Quasimodo in this book :P

She reached over and took a piece of my bacon, along with a little bit of my heart.

I guess some people enjoy pages and pages of introspection, thus the +11000 5 stars reviews.
I get bored. And I start skimming. 600 pages here were too many and 300 unnecessary.
While Kovac and Liska seem to be the common characters in this series they aren't the main players. At least not in this book.
Kovac was funny like an old granny, never being fooled by Quinn and Kate.
I'm not too impressed. Way too long.

There must be dozens of movies about Tarzan but I don't remember ever seeing this particular version of the tale on film. Odd. And it ends with a cliffhanger! wait... treehanger :P

Mystery set around 2011 I guess by some of the history behind the plot. Kinda complicated plot. Had I taken more time to read this I would have been seriously confused with all the names. Looking forward to the next book.

The water in the bucket was glowing, emitting a greenish-blue light. I could see Lettie’s face by it. I could see the waves and ripples on the surface of the water, watch them crest and splash against the side of the bucket.
‘I don’t understand.’
‘I couldn’t get you to the ocean,’ she said. ‘But there was nothing stopping me bringing the ocean to you.’

Neil Gaiman reading his own book is per se a 5 stars luxury.
