“You think so?”
“Describe a woman to me.”
“Intelligent, humorous, artistic.”
“Is this your grandmother? I mean a woman. (...)
... Now describe a woman.”
“A knife in the heart.”

‘The Eiffel Tower, Big Ben (...) the pyramids ... ?’
‘I've sometimes felt a curiosity to see the cathedral in Cologne.’
‘Why don’t you go, then?’
‘My interest doesn't amount to any more than that.’
‘What do you mean when you talk about losing yourself?’
‘I want to go out east,’ Erlendur said. ‘Vanish for a few days. It’s something I do from time to time. Mount Hardskafi ...

Take 2 cups of over busy detective, 2 cups of psychopath -so bad he goes around kicking dogs-, 10 cute kids who have lost their mother, 1 Irish priest -sorry Monsignor- **rolls eyes, 1 perfect Mary Poppins with no life who gets right in time from Ireland. Shake all with dead bodies in every corner and some city destruction. Add some car chases. Keep it short. And you have... expensive TV. Or this book...
