This is not Bujold or Cherryh for sure. The plot has some big and ridiculous mistakes that make no sense and the endless legal chitchat that makes Ky sound so smart bores me no end. There is some sensibility chip that seems missing in her. Uh. This could have been so good. In fact I couldn't stop reading anyway and I plan to read next book because I love space opera. 3.5

The author is being careless about the time line. It doesn't make sense...

I'm not very fond of legal drama and of course being the author a lawyer I knew what this series was about from page 1. But I like this sarcastic psychiatrist you loses his sight and lets us see his everyday fight with people who think that blind equals deaf and dumb. And it's very interesting to learn how a phone and its new fancy apps nowadays can be the best friend to blind people. Complicated plot but interesting

Available for free, the app came with two settings: simple colors (red, blue, green) and what I thought of as the Fruit Loops version, which I liked better because of its livelier descriptions. I moved the phone around to vary the camera’s focal point and listened to the colors it read out to me—Pink Carnation, Ripe Cantaloupe, Persimmon Red, Violet Dusk—until night fell and the streetlights flickered on.

But I’m surprised you don’t have a dog. Or maybe you left it at home. It’s all right, you know, to bring them to court.”
“I don’t have a dog.”
“No? How come?”
“Canes are more macho.”

I like this guy's sarcasm.

Continuously comparing Drummond, Nicholas Drummond with Bond, James Bond doesn't give him a personality...

Short stories collection. My idea is to read a couple from time to time. The list of authors is impressive.

First, this was a really bad police work. It takes Hedstrom 400 pages to go and question the guy who discovers the body. Or how they know about the will...
The book was too long. I would have edited out the entire Anna's part. And some scenes are ridiculous. Like Erica dressing for a date. (What knickers do I wear etc for pages on end) and when she is all ready she runs downstairs to start cooking!!! ::rolls eyes::

John Callum is a guy running from his past who lands on the Faroe Islands thinking he can hide in there mostly from himself. But he has a serious problem with alcohol and a temper. So when there is a murder he is drunk and doesn't remember if he did it. It is difficult to make this convincing in 1st person pov. You want him to be innocent but he doesn't make it easy for you. Great place the Faroes. Excellent book.

...it lifted out and up in an arc, back on itself. It became a water rise, a celebration of the strength of its creator, a phenomenon that was somehow even more dramatic and spectacular than the waterfall had been when plunging to the sea below.

The bed squeaked in protest as Regulus burrowed back against the wall. Ruso looked up. “Don’t worry, I know how not to kill you. I’m a doctor.”

I love this guy ;D
