Interesting, but a bit of a slow start.

The society of one of the planets has eastern European roots. Unfortunately, the author used Czech(?) names for everything and everyone. After the first couple of pages my brain overheats and all I see is blah-blah-blah making it hard to keep track of who/what/where they are talking about. 😵

Just started this. Already very intrigued by the setting.

Off to an interesting start.

I have a hard time wrapping my head around the fictional physics and... topology(?) of the setting. 🤯

A number of references to the old EE Doc Smith "Skylark" series.

I'm really enjoying this book.

Just beginning to read this book, but it's definitely got me interested already.

This edition of the book is advertised as "illustrated" and it does indeed include pictures. The problem is they seem rather random and have nothing to do with the story! The most recent illustration appears to be a Hobbit facing a wolf with a sword, at a point is the story where the protagonist (a normal human) has been captured and chained up by a group of gorilla men. No Hobbits or wolves involved.

I originally read Heinlein's Number of the Beast years ago, so I'm curious to see how this version differs. So far, it seems much the same.

Just finished the two Faith Hunter stories in the book.
