Damn even in a high fantasy world gingers get roasted

Okay Cassie, let's see how you do writing a world without Malec or any shadowhunters present

Spoiler alert: not that many

The real question is how much farther will I get into this book before I start Swordcatcher tomorrow and it takes up all my reading for the next few days

I find it really interesting that we have only followed Bastien and Odette's POVs, when in The Beautiful we mainly followed Celine. This is giving me some hope that we will learn a lot more about the worldbuilding of the vampires in this series

Oooooooohhhhhh lord, I'm going to have a lot to say about our protagonist when I write my review

The way Megan is hyper-fixated on the hotness and muscles of the other male students, aka Wyatt, is so painful. I don't know if I'm just being cynical, but this book seems like it's going to be an annoying ride to me.

I will say even if this book is overall sad, I do appreciate the previous chapter title "Don't Drink and Fly"

One thing I don't like, how we have the classic but annoying love triangle trope of (at least one of) the love interests despising the other just because they're the other love interest.
But at least the horse ended up alive and I couldn't be happier

I was wondering earlier if this was going to happen, and I like that indeed it did.

This book has been a mixed bag for me, but oh dear this is not going to end well at all
