Still a mixed bag of a book for me. The plot has picked up a little bit, but at the same time I'm ready for this book to end

Not too far into the book, but I have a couple of things to mention:
1. The writing in this book is utterly gorgeous so far; it gives me such fairytale vibes
2. The characters and dialogue feels kinda stilted and not that natural. I'm hoping this does get better the further we get into the book...
Regardless, I am enjoying the book so far and can't wait to get back to this writing

It should be illegal for dogs to get killed in books

Dang this is overall a harder book than I expected going into it

Not even the ~joys~ of moving could help me get through this audiobook before my move. I am really enjoying this book with the Gossip Girl vibes mixed in with discourse on race (and queer aspects too but not as heavily). Hopefully I will finish this pretty soon

When you have the perfect storm of all the hassles of moving, getting sick right before said move, and the joys of post-moving, and how that causes you to pretty much put reading on hold.
I am loving this book, but as my post has suggested, a lot has happened this month and this book was cast to the wayside. I hope to finish this by the end of March now that things are settling down for me, but we will see I suppose

I love spotify's audiobook listening with the 24 hours a month limit so much. It's not the reason why I am putting this book on hold at all :)
But for my thoughts on the book itself, I like it so far. Even though I have some mixed feelings on it and mixed feelings on the narrator

Am I upping my reading goals because I am pleasantly surprised by my reading this year? Yes.
Am I still motivated to keep on reading and the current system I have is working really well? Yes.
Am I possibly going to up my goal in the future yet again? Probably.

Am I wondering if/when I will crash and burn and not read for like three months straight? Yes.
