How have I missed this classic?

Very good! An author new to me.

I rarely read short stories, but I make an exception for Binchy.

Dora Marie Rare is a good name for this strong-willed, smart girl.

The apprehension in the flashbacks by Ted is intense. But I can’t look away!!

The glories of teenage friendship - and numerous memorable quotes - are captured well by the author. The palpable anxiety of Louisa makes it a challenge for me.

I will borrow my friend Kaye’s words: “ part mystery, part literary masterpiece, part character study.” This is a brilliant book, one to be savored slowly. Still, I’m eager to learn more of Theo’s plan.
