This one is pretty much the best of the series... Sadly, it's the last book (so far?) in the series. The characters are much more fleshed out, I actually get a sense of depth to them. Obviously not on par with other works, but better than Zero Day and Trojan Horse.
The story is still overly convuluted at times, but it's based way way more in reality, not the cliche dramatized terrorist plot that the first two used

This book series, should have been published in reverse... Mark wrote the move dramatic, total world doomsday plot for the first book and the more mundane, everyday life plot for the last. I like this book so much better, it's more releastic and down to earth...not the world shattering big dramatic plot that Zero day was. The series should have built up to Zero Day

I must enjoy self inflicted torture...but let's see how it goes... So far it seems to break the traditional opening of Zero Day and Trojan Horse...

Alright, the book is jumping around far too much for my tastes. Jumps forward years at a time, and doesn't feel very realistic when characters meet after years apart...

I don't get it... while the writing is still top notch..the pacing of the novel goes haywire, and speeds up, years and years pass way way to quickly from chapter to chapter...loses the day to day feel of the book...very disappointing....

Well...this passes the "Trademark of a Good Book" test... made me do a dive into early 1900's Russia, the Bolshevik revolution and the coup against Tsarist regimie and the Prolitaret... I had never really focused on this area, but the setting of the book is written with such inspiring livery, I had to know more...

Noticing a trend here... Rostov is acquaintances with many people who work in the hotel, that are true masters of their trade. They each have their own distinct and remarkably related personalities. Author does a great job is bringing everyone to life and it just feels very authentic in a fanciful sort of way.

ha, the writing style reminds me of the clever and "proper" wit of Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell

Oh wow, this is really good so far... Maybe because I'm hot off the heals of two crap novels involving character development...

lol...Boy.. Mark Russy, really must have ignored any feedback he received about Zero Day. I'm not too far into the book, but I can see my review for Trojan Horse will mirror that of his previous work Zero Day. Characters with great back stories, but come off as very wooden...and painstaking descriptions of every single "techo-babble" word used. Reads very much like a dictionary at times...

Lol... the plots of these books are always so over the top, but always have a good solid moral. Yea yea We hear Mark! We're very vulnerable! Still a fun exciting read this seems...

Well...um...red herrings and all...it was a good read. Gone Girl was better...but this was interesting. Got a bit confusing as the three women all were shown at various levels of crazy...

...A murdered baby... cheating and infidelity, multiple partners...missing woman... this is like a Sandra Brown book mixed with Desperate housewives..

This book is a bit too "desperate housewives" dramatic for me... I mean it's interesting, but it's getting a bit over the top. It's turned to who cheated on who... and who slept with who and when..

The Red haired man must be a red herring... I'm banking on Rachael taking out Meghan on account of resemblence to Anna... and her newly directed rage towards her..

Anna seems to be the only sane female in this book..

I like the narration on this.. the conversations sound very very real. Narrators do a good job with the inclinations and sublte ups and downs of speech

"Scott wouldn't hurt her..I know him"....spoken about a man she's literally never met in person.... Rachael is freaking insane..

Jyn seems to be growing up extraordinarily quick...while everyone else and the events in the book seem to be normal pace. She's learning to read and talk, while the events seem to be taking place day to day...James should have done a better job in making sure we see long periods of time pass.

In terms of narration... not a lot of variation amongst the voices, especially of women..

And Wilhem Tarkin jumps into the fray! Good to see some continuity between the novel read previously "Tarkin" also written by Luceno

Really gotten interesting. I love the idea that this is sort of show casing all of the R&D around the Republic's military. It's sort of like the Manhatten Project. Different teams..all kept separate and interdepartment talking between teams is discouraged and even restricted. Pretty neat! Also liking the friendship but strained tension of Galen and Krennic...pure science vs military research

Avasarala has the best quotes... "It will take some time to process everyone... But I have to put some blame on the Free Navy itself. If they wanted a faster trial, they shouldn't have leveled so many courthouses"

Haha, Got a nice wide smile from me at the gym

My only gripe with this is that we have no "eyes on Mars" we just hear about the news and happenings through characters like avasarala. We have no POV character to show us the going ons on Mars. We have insight into Earth and the Free Navy through multiple characters, but nothing for Mars.

R.I.P man.... Not sure what his death will mean for the relations...I just hope that Avasarala isn't being hinted at next in line...she's getting a very very similar description that "he" had before his doom...
