I mean, not 2020 bleak. But not great.

Late 80s/early 90s Batman has a very distinctive feel.

(I'm not saying I dislike Batman from this time period; quite the contrary. It's just very singular. And, believe me--when you touch warm, fresh, squishy cat puke, you know exactly what you're touching.)

I love the minutiae of the world Pike's created; she's a master at enabling you to see, feel, hear, and smell the setting.

I'm just a master at getting readers to smell the setting, mostly because the writing stinks.

How do you take a holiday ghost story and make it BETTER? Add Heloise and Grimple, of course, and do it for charity.

Superhero teams, here's a little tip: never use the word "New" in your team name (e.g. "New Warriors"). If you last for any length of time, it's only going to lead to lame jokes like, "Guess they're more like the 'Old Warriors' now, huh? HUH?"

Try a better adjective. I recommend timeless ones like "saucy" or "phlegmatic."

I've never understood why you'd run the same story line through a single character's multiple individual books that different creative teams work on. It makes it so much harder to have consistency, visual and verbal, and it must be frustrating for the creators (not to mention a pain in the fecal vents for readers having to buy books they might not otherwise by). I mean, economically, I guess you sell more books...
