Dang, June is a really sucky month for new releases. Maybe I'll finish some of my half-started books then ... or play some L.A. Noire ...

I don't think I can handle anyone else hurting Manchee :'(

Ugh. If I didn't have to work in the morning I think I'd just stay up all night until I finished this. Curse you, job!

But a knife ain't just a thing, is it? It's a choice, it's something you do. A knife says yes or no, cut or not, die or don't. A knife takes a decision out of your hand and puts it in the world and it never goes back again.

WHUMP!! The world goes bright for a second as something clubs me upside the head ... "WHAT THE HELL D'YOU DO THAT FOR?" I shout, trying not to touch my face too hard. Man, am I sick of being hit today. The girl just looks at me, her forehead still creased, holding her cut. Which is kinda bleeding a lot. "Stick, Todd!" Manchee barks. "And where the hell were you?" I say to him. "Poo, Todd."

Ben told me I'd get to the swamp and I'd know what to do but I don't know what to do. They didn't say nothing about a girl, they didn't say nothing about why the quiet makes me ache so much I can barely stop from ruddy weeping, like I'm missing something so bad I can't even think straight, like the emptiness ain't in her, it's in me and there ain't nothing that's ever gonna fix it.

Um, yeah. This just quickly got INTENSE.

Incredibly busy artwork and a horribly confusing plot. I already own the second one though, so I'll give it a chance and see if it improves.

I haven't read any manga in a loooong time, and I told myself last night while staring at my shelves that I would read a couple today!

DEFINITELY better than the last book, but still missing some of the earlier charm. I love that we're getting so many answers, but I hate that she keeps ending her books before we get to see the aftermath of the actions of the characters. Ah well, see you next May, Sookie.

However, the club's music was out of synch with our little drama—"Hips Don't Lie" was not exactly badass music.

Eww. I just looked up what a hair receiver was. Gross.

Hmm, I wouldn't think Eric would enjoy being called, "Honey." That just doesn't fit him.

For as much as I hate the cemetery, I've been grateful it's here, too. I miss my wife. It's easier to miss her at a cemetery, where she's never been anything but dead, than to miss her in all the places where she was alive.

Kathy's marker has her name, her dates, and the words: BELOVED WIFE AND MOTHER. I read those words over and over every time I visit. I can't help it; they are four words that inadequately and so perfectly sum up her life. You'd know nothing about her except that she was loved. And she was. She'd think that was enough.

Er, ogling your family members, no matter how distant they are, is still weird.
