Not all that upset by the potential death here ... dude was annoying and weird anyway. Honestly, most of the characters are difficult to like in this, especially with how poor they planned their expedition out to the ruins. Seriously, who wears *sandals* to hike through the jungle???

This would make a great movie.

The amount of pain and suffering these people experience is unbelievable and heartbreaking. Poor Om and Ishvar just can't seem to catch a break.

This girl has gotten like four phone calls from unknown callers that she's just ignored while she's trying to figure out a mysterious scavenger hunt someone sent her on ... hmmmm maybe answer your phone?

I keep trying to find books like these and not feeling completely satisfied so dang it I'm just going to read all of the Fear Street books I never read.

Even though the writing is quite clumsy and amateurish (which doesn't make sense since she isn't a new author) I am somewhat intrigued by the multiple storylines and where they'll end up. Still feel like the high ratings are sus though, simply based on the writing alone.

I'm sure deciding to loot a ship that vanished years ago will turn out great lol. Getting both Dead Space and Event Horizon vibes from this, which is fantastic.

The writing so far in this is ... not good. I swear every third sentence starts with the main character's name: Wylie did this, Wylie did that ... also has really short and clipped sentences that ruin any kind of flow. I'm hoping this was just a rough start and it'll get better as I read on.

Good lord that was an intense few chapters. So many harsh and terrible things happening in quick succession, and I imagine it'll only get worse from here.

"One man, old, wizened. Likely stringy, tough. New smell to skin.

'Melanin,' Jane whispered. 'He was a black man.'"

I know this is fantasy but did she really just imply the beast inside her can smell skin color???

Felt in the mood for some old school urban fantasy, and seeing how this series has been collecting dust on my shelves for uhhh 13 years??? I thought why not give it a shot lol.
