Though we'd made it public that we had all colors of the tigers with us in St. Louis, the Harlequin were still hunting and killing the weretigers. It seemed so pointless. "You've thought of something, what?" he asked. "Why keep killing the tigers?" I said. "You mean now that they know you and Jean-Claude have your own gold tigers in St. Louis?" It's like déjà vu all over again.

"They'll be traveling as they hear about the bodies." There was a faint bitter smell because we were standing near the end of the body. Death isn't neat, or pretty, or clean; it's all outhouse smells as your body does everything it can do all at once. I squatted beside the body on the balls of my feet. I made myself look at the body. It's totally within character that Edward reads Harry Potter. I love how believable that is.

And no, I will not be participating in the drinking game. I am not a fan of alcohol poisoning. Plus, this is a library book and I don't want to drool and/or vomit on it when I get drunk after the first few chapters.

I was trying not to start another book before I finished one of the ones I'm already in the middle of, but I can't hold off on this one anymore. This series just flat does it for me. I hope I get a recap of some of the basic concepts because I don't remember who or what anyone is. I hope Anita questions her looks, gets into a fight with law enforcement, and breaks up a pissing contest between her men. Fun fun fun!

In September's world, many things began with pan. Pandemic, Pangaea, Panacea, Panoply. Those were all big words, to be sure, but as has been said, September read often, and liked it best when words did not pretend to be simple, but put on their full armor and rode out with colors flying.

When one is traveling, everything looks brighter and lovelier. That does not mean it is brighter and lovelier; it just means that sweet, kindly home suffers in comparison to tarted-up foreign places with all their jewels on.

Any child knows what a witch looks like. The warts are important, yes, the hooked nose, the cruel smile. But it's the hat that cinches it: pointy and black with a wide rim. Hats change everything. I agree with you, April, the first 3/4 of this book were boring, but the end was action-packed.

Man, a lot of this book is running from place to place, asking questions, and looking for clues. I'm not a big fan of these kind of storylines and it's why I don't read mysteries.
