I'm really trying to care enough to finish this. Really, I am.

Huh. Looks like I'm #6 for Anita at the library. That's ... surprising?

HOLY SHIT. I didn't see that coming.

I think someone broke Goodreads. Or they aren't paying their worker mice enough. Late emails, missing emails, and now my feed is spilling over into the right column. Someone needs to unplug some wires and tighten some screws ... or something.

Huh. So that was probably the hottest "almost-rape" scene I will probably ever read in my life. And this book is a weird mix of Perfect Chemistry and Eugenie's and Cassie Palmer's series, with a splash of Stephanie Plum. And somehow, it's working really well. Really, REALLY well.

"It's almost six," he said, tapping his watch. "You called me at four thirty-four," I said. "I hate four thirty-four. I think four thirty-four should be banned and replaced with something more reasonable, like, say, nine twelve."

Reyes, you say? I think I may have found a sexy Latino all by myself. Mm hmm, mm hmm. :D

I'd been having the same dream for the past month--the one where a dark stranger materialized out of smoke and shadows to play doctor with me. I was starting to wonder if repetitive exposure to nightly hallucinations resulting in earth-shattering climaxes could have any long-term side effects. The prospect led to the following dilemma: Do I seek help or buy drinks all around?

The end got a few sniffles from me, but overall this book wasn't all that special. Oh well.

"So this is love," she said quietly. "The daily prospect of joy or disaster."

Lots of, "I'm not used to following orders or constantly having a hard-on," from Gabriel, "I want this gorgeous man more than any other man I've ever been around before, yet I have to prove my own strength," from Thalia, and "stay away from Thalia, you horny, yet noble, man," from Batu. If there was just about 33% less of this the story would be a lot more stream-lined and I would be more excited to finish.

Bored, bored, bored. Every chapter it's like, this girl died, then that guy died, then this girl got eaten, then that guy got vaporized, now let's go kill some aliens and act like complete dickwads because if we don't kill them first, humanity is DOOMED. Sooooo boring.

I'm struggling with this one, because nothing has really happened. Lots and lots and lots of setup. Plus, every single character has the same snarky voice - I want variety! I also have no idea what anyone looks like. And I was expecting this to be at least mildly humorous. It is not.

Today is my and Jesse's 10 year anniversary. To me, it feels like both 1 year and 100 years have gone by. Here's to me not killing him ... yet.

Trying to clear out my Currently Reading shelf ... we'll see how that goes ...

Life ain't fair. It ain't. Not never. It's pointless and stupid and there's only suffering and pain and people who want to hurt you. You can't love nothing or no one cuz it'll all be taken away or ruined and you'll be left alone and constantly having to fight, constantly having to run just to stay alive. There's nothing good in this life. Not nothing good nowhere. What's the effing point?

FUCK THIS BOOK. ::sobs uncontrollably:: It's not real, it's not real, it's not real ...

Ugh, seriously? Where the hell did he come from? I feel annoyed at this book.

What an asshole thing to do. Now I don't even know if I care if Todd survives or not.
