I know who did it and it hasn't even happened yet... it's blindingly obvious.

This has been a very different read from Storm of Swords, which I guess is surrising.

It's time to start talking about this in hushed tones.

Progressing slowly, but I'm progressing.

The fact that this one is divisive is making me read it differently, and its harder to settle back ad enjoy it. There's no staggering quality difference so far...

He didn't just do that did he? Well, son of a gun, I certainly didn't expect that or that to happen. How many more insane revelations does this book have left in it?

This is exhausting. Reading books is supposed to be relaxing, dammit.

You have to commit to these books when you read them because they're tough to read in a casual way, despite being fantasy epics. They're not easy going, but Jesus fucking christ on a stick this is some good shit. 300 pages in of a 2-part 1200 page epic and realistically not much has happened, but every chapter seems to rack up the tension more and more. The tension is rising. Shit will hit the fan soon.

I was feeling disillusioned, as if I wasn't getting as much out of it as I felt I ought to be and my reading slowly ground to a halt. Then, just as hot the 50% mark, past the section discussing the more famous "Gender Trouble" and onto "Bodies that Matter" I had a "special moment", somewhat akin to a christian finding his faith in God, I encountered a new idea about sex and gender that felt right. And I was happy.

I thought I'd attempt something that was actually written for adults. This can't end well.

Am really starting to appreciate my ignorance on these things now I don't have a 24hr walking, talking critical encyclopedia to hand. Always wanted to be able to talk authoritatively about Judith Butler and realistically I'm not going to be diving into Gender Trouble and these introductions look really good.

This is terrific, easily the best franchise tie-in novel I've ever read. Stover turns the script for this movie into something thoughtful, intriguing and exciting. I really can't wait to see how he deals with the climax.

This is absolutely terrific. The best novelisation of Revenge of the Sith that I've ever read.

So far this is actually looking like its gonna be pretty good. Early days yet, though.

I hadn't heard about this until a couple of years ago and I'd forgotten that I wanted to read it. A further adventure of Luke Skywalker written before anyone even knew what would happen in Empire Strikes Back. Gotta be interesting, right? Unless it sucks. (highly possible)

Not yet sure if this is meant to be epic fantasy or situational comedy. Doesn't really succeed as either...

Enjoying this a lot. When Lovecraft is on form the atmosphere he creates is evocative and intense. Dagon, particularly was very fine. However, I'm not good at wolfing down shorts in long sessions and I tend to pick this up and read it for 30 minutes at a time, like poetry, so I might read something else easygoing alongside it.

Can't wait. It's been fsr too long since I read any Lovecraft...

Why am I sitting here pondering this status update when I could be reading Carmilla? Ridiculous!
