the dichotomy of yona growing closer with the others and allowing them to call her yona vs asking hak to keep calling her “your highness”????? in a way it’s even more personal than calling her by her name, it’s a constant reminder that they’ve known each other the longest, that hak might be the only one in the world to know every side of her. god the BUZZ

this mangaka's humor feels like it was made specifically for me, i am having the best time!! gija trying to be a big brother figure and being horrified when blue dragon gets scared off, hak teasing him every step of the way, yun pointing out the ever-increasing absurdity of their group, the vibes are simply fantastic when i'm not sobbing

oh great one more gut punch for the road i definitely needed that one
i cannot wait for the blue dragon to become more integrated with the group and see him gradually become more comfortable and realize that he's not alone anymore. i just know my heart is gonna grow ten sizes every time i see this man

the progression of her strength feels so earned, and i LOVE how gija, hak, and yun are so proud to see it in action when she refuses to give up on the blue dragon

i love that yona is determined to become more independent and that she realizes that hak deserves more than just being a weapon his entire life, but i also can’t wait for the day that yona finally feels strong enough to “release” him and he’s like uh. no! he’ll stay by her side not because he feels he HAS to or because he’s serving anyone, but because he WANTS to, and she wants him right back

i cried when i watched this episode in the anime so i’m preparing myself for utter devastation the second time around. it’s really brilliant to go from the village of the white dragon and gija’s exalted upbringing to the complete opposite in the village of the blue dragon. from immense pressure and existentialism to stark loneliness and isolation

this dysfunctional found family is making my heart so full!!! i’m still floored at the fact that this series is as long as it is but honestly as long as we stay with these characters and keep adding perfect additions like yun and gija, i’m so down for 40 more volumes of this

giggling and kicking my feet at gija and hak’s rivalry but also reluctant respect for each other. they should spar it out and maybe also kiss

it’s very refreshing how hak handles this conversation with yona and doesn’t talk down to her or belittle her weakness or anything like that. he very tactfully brings up a valid point and then immediately pivots to the bow as a starting weapon. he makes it clear that he’s not THRILLED about it, especially because il never wanted it for her, but he doesn’t argue or try to tease her away from her decision

i really hope we come back to ik-su later on AND HES TOTALLY FINE cause he’s such a lovely character and i want him to be able to help people like he tried to do before he got so discouraged. i hope he’s not as lonely as yun was

i really appreciate how yun didn’t suddenly or even gradually become faithful because of his bond with ik-su. he’s still very cynical and doesn’t believe in god himself, but that doesn’t lessen his belief in ik-su’s faith and i just think that’s beautiful

ik-su and yun’s relationship really goes to show how kindness can be contagious and that it can change the entire course of someone’s life when it’s nurtured

the way i CHEERED when i first saw this moment in the anime!!!!!!! i never get tired of the trope of badass girl cutting her hair because she realizes it puts her at a combat disadvantage, and this is a particularly striking instance of that imo. she is SICK of getting yanked around and treated like the damsel in distress. yona how i adore you

i’ve been really impressed so far with this mangaka’s ability to portray abject horror and panic, the range of emotion is really incredible
