i'm already absolutely head over heels in love with henry but also with the way that victoria schwab introduces characters as queer so casually but still writes them so meaningfully. everybody's gay and it's not a big deal but it's not nothing either

i truly don't understand why, narratively, kell has to suffer like this while lila just gets to be the strongest antari now?? maybe it's just some residual annoyance at her character shining through and causing me to miss some deeper purpose to this storyline but can we let kell be a badass too pls why did he have to be punished so severely

cried about holland this morning, time to drown the pain in the next book and count myself lucky that i didn't have to wait 6 years to come back to this world

okay there was a bit of a slump in the levels of insanity i reached while reading the last book compared to the first but WE ARE SO BACK BABY

i feel like so much of the plot of this book is more unserious than the first one while the characters are simultaneously more depressing which is a fun balance!! i could definitely see critiques saying that a lot of this feels like setup BUT the characters (both new and returning) and their dynamics between one another are just so fucking delicious that i do not care and am enjoying this nearly as much as the first

i would die for rhy maresh!!!!!! he and kell are so dumb but so fucking lovable i can’t stand it and i also can’t get enough
