okay so i did kind of get the existence of this ship spoiled for me before i started reading but to actually SEE it in action is a whole other beast and i am genuinely obsessed. i fucking LOVE a solid secondary couple, and i'm so here for the slowburn. they match each other's energies SO well, and they both understand each other's insecurities even if they've just barely scratched the surface of opening up about them

okay so the reveal is that mio is not in fact a well-mannered little sister, but that she can and will kick your ass at any given moment. fucking brilliant 10/10 no notes. and her nosiness about the girls?????? okay first of all, bi ichimura confirmed, he literally said the quiet part out loud
second of all, i think it’s easier to say “i like looking at her face” than “i feel drawn to her and i want to see her be vulnerable and express all these different emotions”. i don’t think ichimura understands the depth of his feelings yet so he’s just defaulting to the surface level observation of her beauty

there's so many instances of ichimura paring back his initial facial expressions and covering his mouth to try to hide his more vulnerable emotions, so to see him do that so OBVIOUSLY here with his shirt and blushing too????? he's just as nervous and new to this as yoi is, and that leveling of the playing field is really nice to see as a contrast to how ichimura usually acts in school

the more ichimura speaks with yoi and we see these wistful looks he gives sometimes, the more i think he's a deeply lonely and misunderstood person. but it seems like maybe he doesn't fully understand himself either, just like yoi doesn't understand herself

i'm very much enjoying watching yoi attempt to figure out ichimura, she's really treating this like a proper experiment. and him just texting back "okay" to her date suggestion was absolutely because he was so shocked and flustered, and i love seeing all these moments of nervousness from him (and so does yoi). also he looks so fucking good!!!!! what the fuck!!!
