Yeah so the manipulation/revenge/PTSD plot is going to keep being a big deal. Going to add it as a TW in my review. If it makes me sad and angry then I can't imagine so many who have experienced something like this. May be a pass for them.

Barrett is fine but I'm really liking Miles.

Our MC's experience with sexual revenge/manipulation definitely impacts the way she navigates the world. I would say it's PTSD but I'm not sure how to rate its intensity yet.

Okay. Here's the deal.
Right now I'm thinking about just how many times people can use the Groundhog day trope before it gets stale. Even the college angle of this isn't new (Sorry RLS). So Ima need the dislike to like and the rest of the story to really sell me on this or I might see a DNF in my future.

I would really, really love if desperately holding pepperspray while you cross campus at night wasn't a quintessential college experience for lady types.

I only have two more hours of this but I can't make it. I feel like the first one was so much better.
I liked the writing style, the baby witches and even didn't hate the wicked witch who rolls into town. I just feel like the relationship was fumbled so badly that I don't even care enough to finish.

I wanna know the statistics of how many people's freshman roommate becomes their best friend for life. I, too, wanted to find my new bestie at college. Instead my roomie worshipped the devil and almost brought her aunts ashes to our room. So unlike our MC, a single was my personal heaven. But they are overpriced little brick jail cells.

So far I love the concept and older sisters but the MC is soooooo whiny. Hopefully she'll grow out of that as the books go.

Really needed some light hearted middle grade in my life & this has been on my list, and my shelf, for a hot minute. Think I got it last year at the used bookstore. Hoping it's good so I can read the other two & move it onto the official shelf. Also needed a break from the horndogs of the Kiss Curse. Reading a couple more witchy books till I switch to Christmas reads.

I'm dealing with a ton of health stuff at the moment and have the attention span of a gnat and the memory of a goldfish. I'm going to put this on hold wirh the spy book because I need easily digestible and comfort books right now.

Going to try to get through this before Libby takes if again. I've gotten so used to Scribd not being time sensitive, I forget Libby isn't.

This book has never stopped being good and that makes me so so happy.

I forgot that I read the Tea Dragon Tapestry this year. That is my favorite read. But this is my gonna be my favorite novel.

Unless audiobook glitches like an old tape recorder or Thomas didn't write the last four chapters, this is absolutely my favorite book of the year.

Is it just me or have we totally thrown out the idea of "sub plots" and now have "as many plots as we can fit in a book without doing most of them justice."
Like, the magic girl gang tutoring is going nowhere, we got over "slightly annoyed neighbors to lovers" way too fast, and now side plot number three has flounced into town with her "whenever the narrator feels like it" Southern accent.

He has gone from mildly annoyed to "she is the most beautiful woman he has ever seen" in like two chapters and I'm mad they aren't going to be pissed at each other for longer!

He's Welsh and his name is Wells? There really wasn't any other name that he could have had?

We got some diversity-Gwen is Bisexual and one of the gals she's training uses they/them pronouns. Love when it just blends into the story and doesn't feel like the publishers were breathing down the author's backs.

Goddess bless this narrator but the male accents are roughhhhh o.o

The Heist book was too brainy for the mood I'm in right now. Even though I've decided that, without childhood trick or treating and costume making, I'm really not a fan of Halloween season, I still felt like I wanted to get a seasonal book in. So far, I'm loving the vibe of this book and will probably also reread the first one.

Very rarely do I ever find myself putting on audiobooks to do chores or drive to. Usually I just listen to as much as I can before I go to bed. But multiple days I have chosen to put this on while doing chores for several hours. It has yet to let me down.
This is the type of game/Trial I was hoping from Amari, which is making me even more disappointed in that book.

Cheerwine sky is a little cringy but NC having cotton candy skies is 100% true

Haven't spent much time near Duke but always so fun to hear books talk about NC, especially places close to me.
