Someone told me this is one of the funniest books they’ve read… 😑

EVERYONE IS SO DUMB AND AWFUL.

Sadly, I don’t know what the hell to listen to so I’m stuck with it for the moment

If this book were a dark romance or lit fic, I’d probably be fine with the deeply unlikeable hero

Seeing how this is a contemporary romance (at least, I think it is??) I’m seriously struggling

He just said “my baby came out of this [grabs] that means everything you do is my business”

Guys, I really don’t know if I can keep going. I’m sure we eventually see character growth but like… when does that start?

You know it’s good when I’m sitting on the floor, unable to tear my eyes away from my phone despite it being nearly midnight and despite still needing to shower and wash my hair

When a character calls another character “gay” but says it like a slur 🥴🥴🥴

Not enjoying how they keep swearing around the kid 🥴

The love interest seriously needs therapy. His anger issues are a problem

These characters are seriously flawed but ngl it’s pretty refreshing

Oooo this is is MESSY. I’m into it lol

Also, actually listening to the new audiobook/ALC

FYI I always check reviews and ratings before saying yes to a book. I noticed this didn’t have any reviews by white folks and said “immediately yes” ♥️ Time to change that!

Because it took me 80 years to complete my read of Ashes and the Star-Cursed King, and because I was reading a e-arc of it, I’m well behind on all the books and fics I typically read on my phone.

I’ve read a few delightful oneshots, and now it’s time to return to the work of Sierra Simone, goddess of sumptuously written smut

I started reading this a month ago in Turkey but haven’t picked it back up yet. Time to sit and read (versus audio) is seriously limited these days

As I’m always on the hunt to uncover hidden gems, I unearthed this on Libby and thought that despite me not being a historical romance girlie, at 4 hours in length, I can give it a shot

These two are pretty cute together

Points for trying to impact a healthy belief system on to the reader. If only it wasn’t done so heavy-handedly

Needed something light and cute to balance my current reads. Et voila! A sports romance between a rugby player and a double-amputee sprinter

First impressions:
- brilliant imagery
- special characters, diverse cast
- dual POV that is heartbreakingly effective
- time travel; always fun
- appropriately dark given the blurb and subject matter
- the first book in a looooong looooong time to lowkey trigger me (I dated a shitstain of a human who gaslit me and was abusive — for me the mental abuse was by far the most damaging and this book has that)

Hmm not as magical and endearing as her first book, but I am really enjoying Meet Me At The Lake, too

The fighting is all over. K great. Then why isn’t this books done yet 😭🔫

Rereading before finalizing my video essay (which I’ll post next week)

God, I’m loving this so much. It’s like it was written for me. Gorgeous figurative language, and takes place in all the spots I love (including my university)

Clearly I’ll just be over here devouring this book

I’m LIVING for this audiobook. The narrator is perfect and the back-in-time scenes are so freaking cute.

Also this makes me homesick for Toronto… but more so cottage country ☀️🌊🏕️

There’s literally no good reason the characters haven’t had sex yet. All the author is doing is manipulating the reader.

Whyyyy would the king have put them together? IT MAKES NO SENSE

So far there’s been one single compelling scene: a saucy dance filled with sexual tension. THAT’S IT.

I’ve never been so against DNFing a book while simultaneously finding each and every page as painful as a root canal

I’m a third of the way through and yet I’m still asking: Who are these characters? Why should I care about them?
