hmmm this isn't great :/

There's nothing special about this fantasy book (yet)

Went in blind; been very pleasantly surprised. The forced proximity works and the author has done an excellent job showing who these characters are instead of just telling us

Fingers crossed this is a delectable fantasy romance. My Fairyloot edition arrived today and while the edges are blah the naked hardback is very pretty

It’s actually the audiobook but as usual that edition isn’t available for me to choose

This is way more decent than I expected. It has worldbuilding that I buy (even though there hasn’t been the best explanation of what “the pull” is) and smut that slaps. I’m always wary of FMCs who learn about monsters and require no more than 15 seconds to get on board but oh well

Insta love. Cosy fantasy. Cringe dialogue. Reads like someone’s first attempt at writing a book aka a novice

After a very engaging start, things are flagging in the middle. It’s hard to say what’s missing. I don’t have as much patience for these two denying their feelings

Oh so he’s like a *dick* dick. Cool I’m intrigued 👀

(This is my equivalent of when you go out versus going out-out. Y’all know what I mean)

It’s weird how she just accepted the world has monsters without batting an eye but overall it’s been entertaining and smutty 👍

If you’ve ever taken psychedelics… that’s what reading this book can feel like 🤩

Seriously this book is perfect. Historical fantasy with a modern bent, humour, heart, wildly creative, decadent prose… can you ask for more?

I adore how this was written. Everything is in full technicolor 🫶🏼

Taking a risk on an unknown (recently added to Libby) and Jesus Christ I cannot — CANNOT — get over the fact that this was published *this year* and yet the authors use “females” instead of “women” CONSTANTLY

Somehow I’m at 75% even though it feels like there’s so much more to do?

HOWEVER I’m dying that he just swiped the vase off the table because he’s that feral for her 👍👍

Slow start but much more interesting once Tait arrives at the ranch.

Have I mentioned almost none of these characters are particularly likeable? What about that nothing about the plot is particularly compelling?

This book is so strange 🥴 All I keep thinking is “this book wishes it were Belladonna… and falls so flat”

Hmm I’m not so sure about this one. For a fantasy book, magic this story is not 🙁 I can’t pinpoint liking anything other than the smart, loyal best friend and the fun aspect of greenways within the magic system

Going into this blind. All I know is some people are loving it, and some are grossly disappointed

Hmm not nearly as interesting as book one.

There are also a shitload of plot holes
