yes, I know I just started two other books in the past couple days, but I've been wanting something funny.

with all the bloody foreshadowing Lucy's been doing (not to mention how the Bartimaeus trilogy ended) if Lockwood isn't dead by the end of this book I for one will be shocked.

Forgot my hardcover so I read the ebook on break

Cover Art is an... interesting thing. Take "Angels of the Pacific," a world war 2 novel which just crossed my desk at the library. It has an image of the heroine saluting a group of American fighters rising to fight the Japanese invasion of the Philippines... except if you look closely, the aircraft are actually Nazi German Arado Ar 96's, complete with German balkankreuz emblems on the fuselage. That's... awkward

What's kind of crazy is that this is the only one of the four "Year of Sanderson" books that I've read in physical book format; all the others I couldn't wait and read the ebook

ish, "Khriss's laws of investiture" add White Sands to the Cosmere references list

So far this book has connections to Mistborn, Warbreaker (mostly the fact that investiture is measured in Breath-Equivalent Units) Shadows of Silence in the Forests of Hell, and LOTS of connections to Stormlight Archive (KALADIN REFERENCE!). Oh, and Wit finally made an appearance. Basically, if you're going to recommend one book for people new to Sanderson to read, DON'T RECOMMEND THIS ONE, they'd be very VERY lost.

Wow, if you've never read any Cosmere novels the first couple chapters of this book would be VERY confusing. Chock full of references and jargon (also, nice to have a protagonist from Roshar, my favorite of Brandon's many worlds)
