It's good to have sane Rand back, we've missed you so...

I know it's not really "good" that Rand is in his morbidly dark phase at the moment, but I can't pretend I don't enjoy that he can intimidate Aes Sedai just by looking at them.

ish, This book has a problem: it isn't structured like a Sayers mystery. In most of Sayers' books (all but Five Red Herrings IIRC) the victim is introduced as a corpse and then Lord Peter deconstructs the crime. In this book, we're 70 pages in and no corpse (other than George V) instead the book is spending time getting to know the players in the crime-to-come, which doesn't feel like Sayers at all.

ish. I've been hesitant to read the Walsh/Sayers Wimsey books. As a rule, I think that unless you've been specifically hired to finish off an author's work by the estate, dead authors' characters should be left alone, but this does have the advantage of actually being based on Sayers' notes. So far it hasn't lived down to my worst fears or fulfilled my greatest hopes.
