I feel like the more I read RoW, the more im convinced that it's handily the worst of the 4

This is much less character focused than what i'm used to from ty franck/abraham (SA Corey as well as Abraham on his own), but man, the plot is just absolutely enamoring. It also does some tropes that i'm a big fan of, which is fun.

Im thoroughly gripped

My first SA Corey book on release (second if we count Abraham's solo releases cus I read Blade of Dream when it came out) and i'm super excited!!

P fun but the character voices are a little grating

Opening this book didnt teleport me to a beach 1/10

Gentleman Bastard has the special quality where the characters can just talk to each other and do nothing else and it's endlessly entertaining. Just Locke, Jean, and the dialogue. So good.

The way this book is structured is still incredibly weird, but i'm still loving it. That said, the first arc is def better than the second imo. Maybe because it feels a lot more similar to book 1, which is the best of the 3 overall? Not sure

Just banger after banger

All short stories and novellas are bangers so far. Being back in the world of the Expanse is so much fun, and the SA Corey characterisation and dialogue is as good as ever. They're fantastic at giving all characters a distinct voice.

Super excited for The Mercy of Gods next month!
