Narrative seems pretty focused which is good

Rereading this not long after the Devils is pretty funny. This is just incredibly bitter stuff in comparison for an otherwise somewhat similar story

I like this book, though on a reread I do remember why I rated it on the low end for a FL book

Bit of a mixed start but I like where wight is taking the story. Enjoying the meta-narrative aspect of it, didn't expect that to be a thing

I feel like I'll def like the series as it progresses, but the worldbuilding so far is pretty thin, making the plot feel a bit vacuous. I basically have to imagine that there's a sparta-style class of slaves to produce food, tailor clothes etc, that no one ever speaks of, cus no one in the story seems to have an actual job other than training and fighting lol
