Got this as an audiobook and might genuinely clock out at 24 minutes. You’re seriously using a phone call to exposition dump, and in the span of less than ten minutes have already established:
-The guy is super hot and tall and built
-He’s also a jackass (gasp)
-MC overheard him saying he can’t work with her, determines he doesn’t take her seriously as a scientist

Nah Xaden’s growing on me as a love interest. It’s not the amount of times she calls him hot that’s convincing, but rather (most of) his actions. I get that he’s very caring but doesn’t appear that way since it’s hidden under the intimidation.

There’s a whole lot of talk about the person that orchestrated the attack but I’m so lost at the sheer amount of names I can’t bring myself to be shocked at who it was. Like was I supposed to be upset that this person betrayed her? Who even are they?

I maintain the notion that violence is the worst fucking nickname you could’ve given her

I cannot stress enough how this book is literally Divergent. Like this is just Divergent. but with dragons and talks about sex. Xaden is literally Four. Jack/Oren are like the uhhh the uhhh what’s his name. Peter. The main character is literally Tris except her physical weakness is due to disability. It’s just a lot more violent and intense. Wake up Bookstagram! Those who forget history are bound to repeat it!
