You know what? I’ve been feeling like shit for a month and like not much has made me feel joy. But I just made it to 50% of this book in a WEEK. At 1.25x speed. AND I’M ENJOYING IT! This rarely fucking happens. I normally find it takes tooooo long even if I like it. But here I am now! I’m proud of myself.

Anyways, I hope Carrie gets with Nikki (Nicki? I’m listening to the book so idk)

As I curate my book loving community, I hope to engage with people who read for pleasure AND to gain critical thinking skills. I definitely get reading as an escape but for me, media is most engaging when I can find reality in the most fantastical. Very often, I don't enjoy books that I find to be written badly because I find joy in dissecting the well-crafted. But I might also be too critical of certain books.

On my way to reading all of emily henry’s bibliography (?). This would be the 4/4 of her more recent works. I know she’s got more on her GR but since this is part of the main 4 (soon to be 5) I’m just gonna say I’ve read all her big books. Hooray!

Also I decided to read some reviews to see if people agreed w me & Christ people are so fricking polarizing when it comes to media like this. The response to this book is like the exact same as Barbie. People hate it for being too much, people hate it for not being enough. lmao I just think it's an interesting read despite being kind of stagnant. But that's something I'll get into in my review when I finish it.

Wow listening to this at 1.25x speed makes it far more bearable. I am...a little annoyed at this point with the huge disconnect between Elizabeth/Mad/Six Thirty compared to literally everyone else. I think the very "logical" style of thinking was fun at first, and it still is to an extent, but they lean into it so much? And I still don't really understand the Plot or structure of this book. idk.
