I'm pretty sure the neighbors heard me gasping over here when I got to the big DUN-DUN-DUUUUN moment in Chapter 22! That was an even more shocking "Holy Crap" moment than the one this little guy just experienced...

Awww, that's so sweet, the Golem is so nervous about attending her first dance! Don't worry, Chava, I was scared my first time dancing too, but now I can bust a move like this...

YAY!!! They finally met! The Golem and the Jinni finally met! Now I'm so happy, I do the dance of joy! :D

That was so adorable when the Golem's attempt at cooking a meal resulted in her going through a week's worth of food! Don't feel too bad, Chava, my first cooking attempt didn't go so great either...

So, Schaalman damned his own soul and turned to the Dark Arts all because he had a bad dream?!? Congratulations, dude, you're officially crazier than even Nicolas Cage! (Well, maybe you're just "as crazy"...let's face it, no one could ever out-crazy Cage!)

Loved how both the Golem and the Jinni had completely different reactions to seeing the Statue of Liberty for the first time...the Golem thinking the statue may be another golem like her was especially cute and got a few guffaws out of me!

A lonely man begs an alleged dybbuk to use magic to make him a soulmate, a woman made of clay comes to life with a dire warning about her fate, and a confused golem threatens the lives of the doctors trying to save her master. And I'm only 9 pages in! This is gonna be a great one! :D

So the Big Bad behind everything has been revealed, and all I can say is...

Wow, this book is much, much bloodier than I expected! Then again, the fact that Kate brushes off injuries and isn't at all squeamish does add to her bad-assed-ness (is that even a word?!?)

Kate's heading to Unicorn Lane, a place that the world's most dangerous mercenaries only speak about in trembling voices and hushed whispers. A place where every shadow may hide something even darker...

I totally killed the mood with that gif just now, didn't I? :/

Kate's revealed that in her time, after a necromancer named Gilbert did something stupid and self-destructive, it led to an expression known as "doing a Gilbert". Guess what, Kate, we have that expression in our time, too!
