That scene where the blind children save Daredevil's life was so touching, it actually brought a tear to my eye! Later I told my father that his 40-year-old son cried at something in a comic book...then he started crying too! ;)

Going from a Stars Wars book to a graphic novel...what can I say, I LOVE being a dork! ;)

So now Corran keeps finding himself attracted to the evil pirate queen and is considering sleeping with her...while his wife is STILL in the hands of kidnappers?!? Corran, you're not exactly helping to disprove the "all men are pigs" stereotype! >:(

Really, Corran? Flirting with Mara Jade while your wife is still in the hands of kidnappers?!? Not cool, bro! (Besides, both your wife and Mara Jade are skilled with various weapons, so you really don't want to piss those ladies off...)

I'm kinda glad Corran has finally left the Jedi Academy, the way he kept talking down to Luke was getting infuriating. Doesn't he know Luke Skywalker is an expert in everything...

...except pulling off a believable stunt-kick, apparently! :P

MARA JADE - "Babies crying and ghosts whispering lies from beyond the grave? The Dark Lord of the Sith I knew would have been ASHAMED to use such tactics!" Oh, Mara, you just might be the coolest Jedi ever...

The lightsaber duels in this book are fantastic! Of course, it's pretty much impossible to screw up anything involving lightsabers...

...annnnnd once again, Luke does the impossible!

Mara Jade smiled and I found it all too predatory. "You clearly have a problem with me. Shall we settle it now?" she asked. The narrowed stare she gave me was pure fire. Pissing off a redhead with a lightsaber, Corran?!? Bad move, genius!

LUKE - "When confronted by a stormtrooper looking for droids, Obi-Wan used this power to convince a stormtrooper that our droids were not the ones he was looking for." - Ahhh, what self-respecting Star Wars geek could ever forget THAT classic moment...

The sparring match between Corran & Gantoris was epic, I love me a good swordfight!

(Okay, I cheated a bit by not using a Star Wars gif, but Tim Roth is just as cool as anything in Star Wars, right?!?)

HAN - "Really! Someone who finally has in-laws as interesting as mine." - HA HA, Han Solo never loses his cool...

...well, almost never! ;)

Some random thoughts so far...
Liked the aerial dogfight in Chapter 1!
Really liked Corran's inner conflict about starting a family in Chapter 2!
LOVING all the Admiral Thrawn references!

In Jedi rules, there are always two, an apprentice and a master. I am so excited to be doing my first ever buddy read with one of the wisest and nicest Jedi masters I know, the lovely and amazing Branwen Sedai! :D

All these years as a mystery buff, and I'm just now getting around to checking out the Alex Delaware series?!? I feel like such a...

"Maybe you should go on a liquid diet." - Oh, Tommy, that was a remarkably stupid thing to say to a vampire...

"A vampire florist?" "Well, once you accept the vampire part, the florist part is a pretty easy leap, don't you think?" Oh, Mr. Moore, how I've missed your bizarre sense of humor!

Since I always try to avoid giving away spoilers, I can't tell you exactly why the chapter that introduced the song "A Kiss In Heaven" just broke my heart to pieces. All I can tell you is that I pretty much look like this right now...

Whoa... I'll never look at diamonds the same way again! The way people were so cheerful to receive them, even knowing what had to happen for them to get those diamonds? That ain't right...

"Pregnant persons could not participate in the game, we cannot be responsible for killing innocents." He continued with his advice that they needed to have some moral rules in this suicide game. Morals in a game where people are committing suicide...

"Talk about 'killing lawyers' was nothing new; people bent on vilifying the legal profession misquoted Shakespeare's words endlessly: 'first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers'." - Ah, yes, that quote is one of the internet's favorite pieces of misinformation...

Haidji's writing style is incredible! Poetry mixed in with narrative. Descriptions so lush and colorful, Haidji practically paints the story with her words rather than simply telling it! Truly remarkable :)

It's been a while since I read an entire graphic novel in one day, but I just had to see if my theory as to one of the characters was correct, and now all I can say is...

I've heard nothing but amazing things about Haidji's book, preparing to have my mind blown now! :D

The cover blurb says, "The most unsettling, most awesome piece of comic book material that's been published in quite some time". That's all it takes to get me grinning like a maniac! :)
