I didn't get much reading done last night, but it was for a good reason... I went to see Judas Priest in concert! Still, this picture belongs on GR, since reading rocks even more than actual rock does! ;)

So far, Part 2 of this book is going in a much different direction than I expected while reading Part 1. This makes me happy, I love surprises! :)

Jilseponie leaped across and put her knee heavily into the drunk's chest. She slapped away his grabbing hands, then slugged him twice in the face. Her attacker started to say something in protest, and she kicked him right in the jaw.
Have I mentioned I really like Jilseponie?!?

Books not only take us to new worlds, they also introduce us to new people. Branwen and I first met due to a mutual love of R.A. Salvatore, and today I consider her one of my kindest and most treasured friends! Here's to this buddy read and many more, Branwen! :)

Seriously? Even in this scientifically advanced cyberpunk future, the police still haven't come up with a more original approach than "Good Cop-Bad Cop"?!?

The phone nearest him rang. Case picked it up.
It was a computerized voice. "Hello, Case. Don't you want to talk?"
Case hung up. He walked the length of pay phones. Each rang in turn, but only once, as he passed.
That is some first-class stalking! :o

Just as my interest was starting to wane, Gibson throws in a story involving a lab-grown ninja assassin and a computer shaped like a human head that speaks in a melodic yet inhuman voice. Well played, Mr. Gibson, I'm back in! :D

I'm loving Gibson's story and prose, although his world-building leaves me scratching my head. Gibson touches on concepts so casually, it's like he expects readers to go into page 1 with an already intimate knowledge of how everything works in his unique fantasy world! :/

The setting of this book features holograms and laser light everywhere, yet the prose is in a gritty, hard-boiled style. Cyber noir...I like it! :D

I hear this is a totally mind-blowing read! Can't wait to dive into this book! :D

It took them a better part of an hour and many arguments to put the tent up. They received no help from Charlie or Lita, who both preferred to watch them struggle and make sarcastic commentary and laugh. - Heh heh, yep, sounds like my friends! ;)

I'm really glad Ash and Leo are leaving the centaurs behind, since most of those half-horse people were all-ass! Ulhren was especially hateful, with his constant bragging and all his insults towards humans. Get over yourself, Ulhren!

ASH - "Wherever Lady Luck was hiding, she was being a real bitch today!"
Oh, Ash, you make me laugh so maniacally, the neighbors must be convinced I'm a supervillain! :D

This battle between the vampires and the ghouls just might be the most exciting climax yet in The Dresden Files...and we're talking about a series where Harry once rode a dinosaur into a zombie fight! It's hard to top a dinosaur, they usually make everything cooler...

I may have a new book crush... Lita the faerie is strong, feisty, funny, and bonus points...she's a redhead! Lita, you have earned the official Seal of Approval!

Okay, even though the way Harry got out of that trap was a total deus ex machina, it was so cool I still really enjoyed it! What can I say, I'm not exactly a man of sophisticated tastes, if there's some fun action sequences, I'm happy!

Me after getting to the big twist at the end of Chapter 6...

So Charlie's been whisked away to a fantasy-filled world with faeries and magic, and one of his big concerns right now..."Where am I going to put all my books"

Covered in vines was a cracked statue of a man with enormous wings holding a sword out like a nun would a cross when confronted by a demon. Only with a more serious expression. - More serious than a nun?!? That's pretty frightening...

Hmmm, I have no idea where Ash's story is going...I like that!!! Well done, Tenae, I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what happens next! :D

Harry, you're going to challenge the bad guy to a duel? Uhhh, that didn't work out too well for you in book #3...or book #5! Mr. Dresden, dueling might just be a bad idea for you...

One of my long-time book-buddies, Tenae Hunt (who will always be Miss Tarklovishki to me), has published her first book! I'm so excited to read this one, I'm doing the Dean-dance! :D

I'm almost positive I know who is really behind the haunting of Rosewood Manor. However, I'm going to work now, so I'll have to wait several hours to see if I'm right! :( Why must I work for a living?!?

Harry's apprentice Molly is so spirited and adorable, she reminds me of another Molly..."Sherlock" fans know who I mean! ;)
