Lord, get me through this book. How could any writer or publisher have though it an interesting approach, to dwell on miles and sizes of things and places? For pete's sake, tell a story of what can be seen there today, or of the people who used to spend time there! Enough dry as toast facts, mathematical figures, measurements, costs, and distances. If some were falsely advertised towns but unlived in, skip those.

I don't like to say of Canadian geography: this is as dry as toast! However, I like toast. Elsie G. Turnbull should have named this: "The measurements of steamroller vessels, descriptions of towns in miles (kilometers in brackets, even though this is Canadian) and names of railroad and mining companies". She might as well have listed the towns. Repetition of those numbers, not the feel of towns, is what we get.

This is the sort of local or patriotic educational fare that I love to pick up at a bargain.

This is something very positive and necessary to our world, even before peculiar health developments. I will write a synopsis for the database record soon, to describe this inspiring and encouraging short book. Essentially: our planet is due to be at a higher vibration than it has achieved so far. There are spirit guides from the 11th dimension who have been waiting to help, for those who can meditate and listen.

And so the shy but sociable Stefan Reicher Carter and the fascinating, spunky Emilee Horn are married! I didn't know my Mom's friend was half-Canadian by her Dad. It surely made moving to Winnipeg, Manitoba easy. I love learning that in her own subjects and private pursuits, Emilee was as well-educated and well-rounded as Stefan. She was an English teacher in a tough New York district, with a vast art background.

We made it to my home city, Winnipeg, in 1948. It is very educational to see what attitudes and life were like, at a time when my parents had scarcely been born. I can't wait for the part where Stefan meets the artist Emilee, presumably in New York. She was my Mom's friend!

The worst part is over. We move to my province and fair city: Winnipeg, Manitoba! I will get to see what post-wartime was like on my home turf.
I was shocked and sad to read that it wasn't only German "SS" who killed Jews! Polish militia killed a thousand surviving Jews, after the war was over?! After all they went to and how blessed the few unexterminated ones were to have survived? Fellow Poles?! I feel ill.

My Mom and Emilee Carter were friends, a New York visual artist. Emiliee ascended to Heaven in 2015. Unfortunately, so did my dear Mom, two months ago. It is hard to believe. My Dad is giving me family records and things that belonged to my Mom, included her books. I have Emilee's artbook and two by her husband, Dr. Stefan A. Carter. He sent me a warm condolence letter this week. I am eager to read their work.

I fell asleep even though this novel is nearly done. It happens to those of us who read in bed, haha.

Back to our compassionate, case-solving friends, in the present publication time period of 1992.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone: the blessings, happiness, and luck of the Irish to us all! My Mom & I enjoyed celebrating this side of our heritage with little words and treats for each other. She has been gone only two months, for those who haven't seen my news. But I am continuing to celebrate what we enjoyed.

The honeymoon phase is over. I take issue with some things and see huge places where the researcher and author took large leaps, encompassing all of life, based on his impressions of an isolated subject. When they lean into things you know a lot about and you see a lack of knowledge in them, you can't help wincing at broad, erroneous, uneducated statements. Five stars are no longer up for grabs but there is value.

Wonderful and a very simple conveying of very important concepts to adopt! What reflects emotions and vibrantions. It can copy DNA to cure and heal! We are 70% water and so is our planet surface. Imagine the possibilities and impact. Read a copy of Dr. Masaru's research, with the tangible outcome provided in water crystal photographs!

This mystery started great but the stupidity resultant from comedy that Elizabeth began to attempt, is ruining the tone, seriousness, and respectability. It could sink to three stars, unless something moves or impresses me. Come on! Don't reserve all your atmosphere and mystique for the Barbara Michaels pseudonym! Mysteries and adventures without the paranormal can nevertheless, be great, if silliness is avoided!

I am enjoying this very much and am bouncing along through it. My sole criticism at the moment, which sees this knocked down to a four-star review, is the impossibility of chasers regularly finding out where the hider is and catching up with her. There is no way! Shticks like that are stupid and in 1969, Elizabeth ought to have known better.

I have had this set aside as one of the individual novels for years. I am surprised to see that some call it a prequel to Vicki Bliss but if she isn't in it, I suppose an individual mystery is truer.

I am impressed that Agatha Christie, part of the "golden age" group of authors who pissed me off by agreeing to rules that include "never using the paranormal in a story"; did use the paranormal here! In fact, she is creeping me out, in a fun way, which I did not expect. I will try to finish this tonight and arrange going to sleep on a non-creepy note, haha. I think I dreamed about some of this!

An unusual selection of short stories. I am reading the small, grim tales and short book slowly only because of making other entertainment choices and being tired by the time it is bedtime. There is some good TV on. It is not lack of quality or enjoyment in this 1924 collection. I have 1924 marked; perhaps the earliest story is from that year.
