Alright, ladies and gentlemen: I shall read a romance. Only because it is well-supported by a paranormal story that generates my keenness. Learning about Morgana is my interest. If some sort of passion trails along behind this fun mysteriousness, it wn't bother me. Happy St. Valentine's Day, everyone!

I miss my Mom. She & Dad celebrated with romantic cards and treats for us. We shall pamper Dad this week-end.

This is how you portray a fictional story in a medieval nunnery. You show instead of tell the customs, atmosphere, mindset, and family life. If there is a mystery: you emphasize its progression and resolution. I will take Margaret Frazer over the lecturing, wordy Umberto Eco immediately.

There are long sentences, political and religious history unknown to me, and intelligent ideas imparted instead of a straightforward action narrative. There is nothing wrong with that. Education and depth are assets. Because I don't mind slowing down and receiving the gift that Umberto Eco offers, I am enjoying this as much as I hoped I would.

Every page is fantastic. Put down those mass-marketed new release e-book freebies and get yourself a second-hand copy of Martha Grimes' series. A lot of the good stuff has already been written and needs us to talk about it and share it some more.

Rest in peace, my dearest Mom. We gave you a good funeral service send-off today. We love you and always will. With all our hearts: your daughter Carolyn, Ron, and our Kitties, who are your cat-Grandchilden.
