I am enjoying every inch of this. There is a lot to it, many different people's stories that connect, between 1792 and 1972 and all of it is interesting! For once, I am not antsy to return to the modern 1972 timeline but care for all of the protagonists and am riveted every page of everyone's scenes. I am glad I am into this famous 1988 novel at last. I have owned the paperback for a decade.

I noted before that there is a camp of folks who did not find the exciting pitch and investment of the characters and stories of this book. I am happy to be enjoying the varied timeline characters and each of their stories thoroughly.

This is a famous novel from 1988 that receives all kinds of stars. Some did not get why it is good and others thrive on the pages. I am liking it.

I am enjoying this and as of this 1990 story about 1888, we really feel time and world issues growing.

Emily is remarried! I did not anticipate another family wedding so soon but this is 1888 and this joy is a lovely addition.

Oh, how comforting immediately, to read more of Sylvia's humorous, straightforward, encouraging ideals! The word "serendipity" and being drawn where we need to be certainly rings true! This is the next book in publishing order, the way I like to read authors' work. I did not know it deals with grief. I only knew it would uplift me overall. You know I lost my Mom 3 months ago. This book is specifically helpful.

Old towns and people are well worth saving in records and being told about in stories and books. However this was not well told. It gets a two-star grade for choosing the driest, least memorable way of sharing this little-known history. It is not about the places being uninteresting. Telling us about them should have been handled better.
