If you read The Giver and are interested in more of the story, you might find this book worthwhile, and you don't have to bother with the 2nd and 3rd books, which are less related.

As I'd anticipated, this is the book in the quartet that's most directly a sequel to The Giver, and so far it seems like the most promising followup.

My interest peaked and waned throughout this book, but overall, it was a good one.

I've been meaning to read this for ages. I knew the basic premise but didn't realize the story is mostly set a few years after, so it's different than I was expecting.

Expectations for this book have been significantly raised by the Colbert bump, but so far, it's looking good that they will be met.

I started this two days ago and had read about a third by this morning. Then I inadvertently spent half the day reading the rest. I didn't love it, but it's a highly readable story, very hard to put down.

This story had me bawling with happy tears at the end!

I've been really looking forward to this novella, and it's as delightful as I expected!

This memoir sparked the inspiration for my novel. I'm giving it a reread and really enjoying the details of life in the Santa Clara Valley in the 1960s.
