An exciting story with much at stake.

I believe it was Elke who first recommended this to me years ago, and I'm finally getting to it. The command "kill -9" has already been a plot point, so I have high hopes.

All the plotlines have been introduced now, and it's a good mix of new characters and ones that appeared in the first book. And once again, the story promises to be full of intrigue.

Fantastic. Even better than the excellent first book.

Good start. I like that the rebellion isn't as simple as clear-cut good and evil.

With all the stuff about rebellion and uprising, I'm finding this more interesting than the first book.

I continue to be so impressed by the rich and often subtle worldbuilding in this series.

On to the next installment!

I love how Leckie uses this series to knock down so many flawed SF tropes, while also telling a cracking good story!

The plot is fairly low-key, but it's really all about the immersion in a group of characters, a culture, and a time.

I loved this back in 1997. Rereading it now and having feelings of pleasant nostalgia for both the story and the time.
