Kathy Lori, you have two of my favorite books on your list, The Long and Faraway Gone by Lou Berney (Anything by Lou I have loved) and The Hound of the Baskervilles. The Salt Path has been on my shelf to read for a while now, and I even took it to the cemetery and talked to Kevin about it. Sue Grafton was/is a favorite, but it's very strange that I still haven't read her last two books. I can only figure that I don't want the series to end, but I think if I've learned anything, it's I need to not put things off anymore. Another favorite book of mine is I Let You Go by Clare Mackintosh, so I try to keep up with her, but I haven't read Game of Lies. I'm just now beginning to be able to read fiction again, a year after Kevin died. Also, I wondered if you have read James Eskens. I would say his and Lou Berney's writing is similar, and Jim is another of my favorites. Gee, look at me. Writing about books again.

Lori Rader-Day Kathy, hello! I love Lou's books and OF COURSE The Hound of the Baskervilles. I read all three of Raynor Winn's books this year (re-reading the first two, then reading the third). There's something so transporting about them; hope you give them a try. I think they might be good, gentle reading for you.

Thanks for the comments about the Raynor Winn books, Lori.
