Dichotomy Girl Congrats! Are you going to up your goal, or sit back and gloat as your number keeps moving past your goal?

Thanks! Yes, I wonder where I would be without that slump!

Thanks, DG! 😃

I will leave it, but each year my goal goes up by 5. Eventually I will figure out the proper equilibrium.

Juan Pablo king of fast reading!!

I try! This year has been a strong audiobook year - the nature of the pandemic for me has led to less time to read physical books. You would think it would be the opposite!

message 68: by Ginger (new)

Ginger Fantastic job getting it done this year Matthew! I knew you were struggling earlier in the year with reading, covid and getting in a book slump. Great job!

Thanks, Ginger! My reading still isn't exactly the way it was, but I no longer feel slumpy!

I confess that I constantly change mine so that I'm neither too far ahead or too far behind. But reading has been hard this year. And last year I somehow had 611?!? I don't know how the heck I managed that. But I'm not going to be anywhere near that this year.

message 71: by Shainlock (new)

Shainlock Nice varied selection... definitely some of the broader horizons I’be seen yet which is amazing. Grats!

message 72: by Adam (new)

Adam Congrats! And I totally get it, this pandemic/quarantine has completely ramped up my audiobook listening and slowed down my actual reading of physical books! Oh, the irony!

I did 220 in honor of the year, but once I reached that (partly because of Covid), I decided to up it to 365, which I've hit. I'm probably going to leave it and see what I think next year.

I hit 300 thus far this year, but I feel like I'm barely having time to read. I'm working from home, but I'm doing corona homeschooling at the same time, which means I don't get to listen to audiobooks while I work, or read on my lunch hour.

611!? Wow - that is impressive!

Without looking I think I have been finishing in the 120 to 130 range for several years.

I know right!? Totally seems like the opposite, but I think it is just too hard to get my brain to focus on the page a lot of time now. Now, I escape through the words whispered in my ear!

message 78: by Janelle (Nellie) (new)

To be fair, I track absolutely everything. So of that 611 includes DNF's, short stories and graphic novels. If asked how many books I read a year, I just say 300-400 to give a more accurate picture.

Cindy (BKind2Books) Way to go! I read a mix of hard copies, ebooks, and audiobooks. Maybe when I retire I can up my reading. I’m managing about 125 +/- a year (one year did about 160 - I have not come close to that since).
