Often if I back up one scene I can figure out where I went wrong.

If I'm not sure where to take the story next, I get out pen and paper and make a list of my character's options and the pros and cons of each. Usually one idea on the list will strike me as being more fun or "right". Sometimes, I combine two options.(less)

Short story. I read this when it came out, before Peace Talks, but it properly fits inside the timeline for Twelve Months so I decided to reread it. Very charming and funny and full of heart.

The twelve-month period made for a slightly slower plot, but it made up for it by being more character oriented and shows both how Harry and Chicago are recovering from the battle.
